Mercury conjunct Jupiter
|
This Mercury conjunct Jupiter page and the entire website are excerpted from You and the Universe, a handmade, individualized fine art book on astrology, mythology and astronomy through which the recipient's complete astrological reading is woven. What an expansive mind you have! You are insatiably curious, insist on discovering the truth, have a tremendous storehouse of knowledge, and excel at reasoning and persuading others to your point of view. Two things, however, can stand in the way of your becoming an authority and being respected in your field. First, you can be lazy, which is easily addressed by self-recognition and will. Second is the possible lack of a higher education. If you haven’t already done so, tempering your large mind with training and discipline would be greatly rewarding for you and the world. But whether or not you seek advanced degrees, you will eventually expand your consciousness and mental horizons in some way. Philosophical, compassionate and sympathetic, you're able to see both the large and the small human concerns. Since you give of the abundance you have, your generosity returns to you in the form of gifts and benefits from the world. There are so many avenues for you to explore that finding a focus and a definite path can difficult for you. Although you are generously disposed towards communicating with others, beware of occasionally attaching too much importance to your own opinion. If this conjunction is in the sixth house, or Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius is on the cusp of the sixth, or is otherwise afflicted (look for hard aspects to Mercury in this section, or to Jupiter), then you're susceptible to nervous disorders that necessitate rest and relaxation during recuperation. As this can run against your grain, please hear this warning now to take space from your work if and when necessary! This conjunction is best in Aries, Cancer, Libra, Scorpio or Aquarius where neither planet is in its detriment -- otherwise there can be misjudgment. If this conjunction is afflicted by Mars, beware of egotism or arrogance. You're a problem solver, and your fine mental talent would make you an excellent writer, counselor, teacher, lawyer, judge, translator or historian; you'd also do well in public relations or travel. The following have (or had) strong Mercury-Jupiter conjunctions: Woody Allen, Brigitte Bardot, Melvin Belli, William Blake, Robert Blake, Johannes Brahms, Joseph Campbell, Karen Carpenter, Cezar Chavez, Michael Douglas, Mick Jagger, John F. Kennedy, Dean Martin, Thomas Mertin, Paul Newman, Richard Nixon, Marcel Proust, Roy Rogers, Shirley Temple and Kurt Vonnegut. |
