The eleventh house is where we find our identity within a group; it symbolizes one-to-many relationships as distinct from Seventh house one-to-one relationships. It rules friends, groups, our social circle, membership in societies and organizations, ideals and aspirations shared by the groups to which we belong, and in general, situations in which we have to change our behavior to get along with more than one other person at the same time. Planets in the eleventh house show the kind of friends we attract to us, or the kinds of energy we experience in relation to groups. Many planets in this house indicate that we live a large part of our lives in connection with our friends or groups, and often need group support to accept or value what we are doing.

Astronomically speaking, the eleventh house is that one-twelfth sector of the local sky midway between the Midheaven and the eastern horizon (see above picture) occupied by planets two to four hours after they rise.

With Uranus in your eleventh house you have social intercourse with a great many people and their ideas. As you also tend to experiment with your social life, you can go through a lot of friends. These friends are usually of two types: the conventional and conservative, or the bohemian and eccentric - and rarely the twain shall meet. You change your mind a great deal about your goals and objectives before finally settling on a direction. If Uranus is afflicted here, association with the wrong people can cause trouble. Your feelings toward and against other people are strong and changeable.

With Neptune in the eleventh house it's important that your goals and objectives are well-defined and thought out, or your tendency will be to dream rather than to act. On the other hand, with this placement your imagination drives you to make your dreams and inner vision a reality. You're very open to the suggestions, opinions and general psychic energy of your friends, so you should be discriminating in your choice of same. If Neptune is afflicted here (in hard aspect to Pluto; or, to a lesser extent, in Virgo or Capricorn), there will be deception on your part or theirs toward the other. You are generally oriented towards humanitarian, group, and community service, and may dream of a world where unity and harmony are a reality.
